Enrollment and the waitlist

How does the waitlist work?

Each age group has its own waitlist. Fill in the waitlist form on our Admissions page, and we contact families in order when a place opens in the right classroom. Joining does not guarantee a place.

We accept new children all year, as places open. Tell us the start date you want when you join the waitlist.

Yes, please do. Call 401-785-8485 or email bbinfo@jhcdc.org and we will set up a tour with you.

Yes, $25, due when you register. It is separate from tuition and is not refundable.

Tuition and payment

How much is tuition?

Weekly rates depend on your child’s age and how many days they attend, from $170 to $400 a week. The full table is on our Admissions page.

Yes. Younger brothers and sisters receive 10% off.

Yes, for families who qualify, through the Rhode Island Department of Human Services.

Yes. Tuition reserves your child’s place, so it covers illness, vacation, holidays and snow days. For planned time off, use the vacation request form on our For Parents page.

On the Friday before the week your child attends. Payments after Tuesday at noon carry a $10 late fee.

Days, hours and closures

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday. Drop-off starts at 7:30am and we close at 5:00pm. Every child should be in by 9:30am.

Pick-up counts as late five minutes after your child’s scheduled time. There is a $10 fee at 5:00pm, then $1 for every minute after.

Major holidays, three staff training days a year, and the closures on our school year calendar, which is on the For Parents page. Any extra closure is posted in the center at least two weeks ahead.

Yes, with a schedule change form handed in one week before a permanent change. Schedules need to stay the same from week to week.

Programs and care

What ages do you serve?

Six weeks to five years: infant care to about 21 months, toddler care from 21 months to three years, and preschool from three to five, including State Pre-K.

Yes. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are included, through the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

We are licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families, approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education, and rated five stars by BrightStars.

Yes, on site, through our partnership with Children’s Friend.
